POTUS

Yeah, that was me creating an international incident on the Upper East Side yesterday. POTUS was in the neighborhood and whole streets were blocked off. I innocently left work at about 4:30pm to go for a run in Central Park. I was headed down 75th St. and could see that there were tons of barricades ahead. I asked a cop if I could get through; I explained that I was trying to get to the park. She said that if I went "right now," I could get through. By the time I got to the end of the block, I had other cops screaming at me, "Where did you come from?!? Why are you here???" Whoops. Sorry officer, I was just trying to get to the park! They escorted me down a block of Fifth Ave - I darted across the avenue and hightailed it into the park. Needless to say, my run got started a little later than I had anticipated and my route changed....  But after all the confusion it was a beautiful day for a lap around the reservoir.
