culture

I went to work for awhile on Thursday morning. It was a rude reminder of what it's like to get up at 5:30 to catch the train. But the day was productive and then Bob came in to meet me for lunch and a trip to The Whitney. The show we wanted to see is called Summer of Love - Art of the Psychedelic Era. It was sensory overload for me between the colors, music, and oil and light shows. Bob lived this whole experience, so for him it was deja vu all over again. We really enjoyed the show - mostly it was good people watching. We also liked the show that was on the 4th floor - Rudolf Stingel.

Sidebar: Whenever anyone in this family calls you and says, "How was your day? uh huh, uh huh. Yes, what did you do?" etc. and then they let you gab away about whatever happened that day - it means SOMETHING IS WRONG. So you have two choices - go along with the seemingly benign small talk and see how long it takes them to tell you what's wrong. Or just cut to the chase and ask what the hell happened. In English or Spanish. Doesn't matter. I speak from experience.
