Today I actually managed to meet my friend Ximena for coffee at a café. We´ve been here for well over a week and we´re finally finding the time to socialize. We´ve both been very busy - Xime with visits with friends and family, and me with getting acclimated with the area and my classes. And we both have been checking in with the girls periodically. So today we acted like real sanjuaninas and hung out in the sun at a café table on the sidewalk for a little late breakfast. Then we rushed off to our separate days. I had my usual big lunch at the cousins, followed by Spanish class. I was given a reprieve in the ser y estar department. Instead, we went to Sarmiento´s birthplace, which is now a museum. Then I actually met Ximena again (TWICE in one day!) to do a little shopping. I bought some wool to make a scarf. There is a lot of hurrying up and waiting in this house, so I needed something to do that was easy while I´m trying not to go crazy with the lack of a schedule.... There is definitely a schedule and then the San Juan time-frame..... doesn´t mesh with my personality so well.... Mabel is off to her folk dancing class, and I just snarfed down 4 empanadas. I actually need to do some homework on tango for my spanish class tomorrow. I fear I am back to hard-core grammar again tomorrow too....
