PR: done

We made it back in one piece this morning. I'll write more about our whole week bit by bit; there are too many stories to tell in one sitting.

We had our first adventure before we even left Princeton Junction. Because we were leaving after most of rush hour was over and because we would be coming and going during times that would make it convenient to get the train, our grand plan was to take the train to EWR. Everything was going swimmingly - trains were on time and the sun was out. Bob ferried me and the luggage over to the station and while he was taking the car back home and walking back over, I purchased our train and airport access tickets. Then all hell broke loose. Suddenly, no trains were operating in either direction. This was last Monday - two days after the giant snowstorm. It seems that the sun on Sunday melted some snow and a super-cold night froze some switches - then the morning rush hour trains must have melted things again. Needless to say, it was wreaking havoc on our travel plans. We both had a momentary freak-out and then Bob ran home to get the car. I tried calling the car service we've used in the past, but there was no way that was going to work with little or no warning. We had given ourselves plenty of time so we made it to the airport with an ample cushion but we threw the car into an expensive garage with the justification that it would still be less expensive than limo service. The good news - we had no trouble getting through security and even had enough time to eat breakfast. We chatted with a TSA guy and he said that the huge crush of leftover travelers that had been stranded by the storm went through security at 6am. He said it was a mob scene. A few hours later and all was well......
