everything goes better with ice cream and funyuns

Do you have any freakin' clue what a Funyun is? I didn't before last week. While I've been on the job since July 1, the real deal only started last week when all the kids showed up. One of the beautiful things about working in a school is that they feed you. A lot. Every two or three hours whether you need it or not. That's the reason why I feel like I'm going to have an anxiety attack if I don't get to the gym this morning. Right when we were getting ready to go one of Bob's friends called and now he's on the phone with her giving the full-blown update - there's a lot because we've moved, etc., and I might just have to take my own car to the gym but I feel guilty about the double fossil fuel burning and I don't want to run/walk outside because the weather is crap......  But I digress. Anyway, as I said before we get fed a lot. And one of those feedings is a snack at 10:15am. The snacks run the gamut from apples to chex mix to cereal to FUNYUNS. As near as I can figure a funyun is a chemically puffed onion and salt product. Eat just one and you'll need to drink water for the remainder of the day, otherwise you'll shrink up and pop like those cells you watched under the microscope when you mistakenly let the slide get dry because the heat of the lamp was too much for the one-celled organism to handle. Yeah - too much coffee this morning. BUT ANYWAY - I've decided funyuns are gross and I'm never eating one again. But I'm not too proud to participate in the end of the first week ice cream sundae celebration - once I'm done scooping ice cream for 6th graders that are too short to get some leverage on the scoop.......
